I haven't blogged in years. I used to, back when I traveled a lot and I wanted an easy way to keep a lot of people updated on what I was up to. In fact, when I opened up this blog, I went back and read a lot of my previous posts from back when I visited Rwanda two years ago. It was a fun little trip down memory lane!
My life doesn't include much travel anymore, unless you count flying back and forth between Washington and Michigan (which only happens once or twice a year). It used to happen a lot more frequently back when my husband and I were dating long-distance. But now, with our five week old son added into the mix, I don't see a ton of traveling in our future!
I do, however, find myself in the same situation of wanting to keep people updated on what I'm up to. Now that I live in Michigan, it's hard to stay in touch with all my friends and family back in Washington. And although our life here isn't all that exciting or fascinating, it's still wonderful and includes a lot of the mundane little adventures that make up life when you're married and have kids and aspire to be vegetable gardeners and chicken-farmers!
I'll probably experiment with this blog for a little while and see if it's something that I actually have the motivation and desire to maintain. So if you do read it and you like it, would you let me know? Otherwise, I can pretty much guarantee that I'll write a post or two and then get bored and never write anything again.
I also need to update the look of the blog (although from what I remember of blogspot, that can be an extremely time-consuming endeavor). The travel theme isn't really pertinent anymore, but I'm sure at some point I'll get around to changing it to something more applicable!
If you're still reading at this point, thank you! I'll try to write something more interesting soon!

I would absolutely read your posts, Laura! I understand your desire to blog to keep people updated -- I'm in a similar boat with my blog since I'd like to keep some church folks in Goldendale informed on my life. I would love to read your updates :)
